How to Conceive a Baby Girl
If you’ve been dreaming about having your own little princess, you may want to take steps toward increasing your chances of conceiving a baby girl. There are certain factors that play a role in determining the sex of a baby. Once you understand these factors, you can take measures to increase your probability of conceiving a baby girl.
First, you should understand how the sex of a baby is determined. Women contribute the XX chromosome, “x” being female. Males carry XY, with “y” being male. Thus, to conceive a baby girl, sperm bearing an x-chromosome must implant itself into the egg.
X and Y bearing sperms are considered to have different characteristics. The y-bearing sperms are more fragile and do not do well in more acidic environments. They are also faster swimmers, but tend to die off more quickly than the x-bearing sperm.
Choosing Your Baby’s Gender before Conception
So, with all of this in mind, consider these factors when attempting to conceive a baby girl:
- Sexual positions that allow for shallow penetration, like missionary. The idea is that near the vaginal opening is more acidic, so the y-bearing sperm (that produce baby boys) will die more quickly, allowing the x-bearing sperm (that will produce baby girls) to have a better opportunity of successfully fertilizing the egg.
- The “girl diet.” This is a collection of foods that many argue help conceive a baby girl. These food items include: chocolate, fresh vegetables, fish, and other sweets. The boy diet tends ot include food like meat, salty snacks, and caffeine, so if you’re hoping for a girl stay away from these food items.
- Chinese gender chart. This is basically a calendar that tells you what month is better for a “boy” or “girl” baby, depending on your age. Make sure you calculate your age based on your “Chinese” age (which is about a year off).
- No orgasm. It is said that having an orgasm increases the alkaline levels that are more conducive to y-bearing sperms. So, no orgasm if you want to conceive a baby girl.
